Built by two people who got tired of watching women leave appointments without answers.

Arushi Bhardwaj
Co-founder. Product, evidence translation, AI, brand.
Arushi trained in population and quantitative health sciences. She spent years at Heart & Stroke working across data, digital health product, program design, and evaluation, learning what evidence-based change actually requires inside a large health organization. She specializes in behaviour change health products.
She completed the Executive Master of Health Informatics at the University of Toronto, then built Navigator at Reimagine Labs from zero to one, an AI-native platform helping healthcare, public-sector, and nonprofit teams turn research into strategy.
Cyster is the product she sees women asking for after they walk out of a “come back in a year” appointment with no language for what they see in their own bodies between appointments.

Mary Kristine Zabala
Clinical co-founder. Owns clinical accuracy across every Cyster surface.
Mary’s first symptoms appeared in high school, the year her mom was diagnosed with cancer. There was no time to look after herself. She ignored what she was seeing for ten years and was diagnosed in 2022, after her periods became, in her words, “unpredictable enough to be ruining my life.”
Mary is a Registered Nurse who completed the Executive Master of Health Informatics. She has experience on the front line of chronic care, watching the gap between what clinicians have time to explain and what people actually need to understand to manage their own bodies.
At Cyster, Mary holds the clinical bar. Every claim on every surface traces back to a guideline or a peer-reviewed source.
